Get to know me
For starters...
My name is Cameron Hofbauer.
I studied at Purdue University, with a bachelor's degree, in the field of Computer Science (with a concentration in Security).
Why do I like computers?
I remember when I was around 6 years old, my father introduced me to our home computer.
I played a lot of flash games on it and watched Spongebob videos on YouTube.
When I grew tired of doing these, I started messing with the Windows Vista operating system.
From there, I became more experienced with using the computer than my parents.
So much so that they always reached out to me for any technical help (such as the daunting task of opening Google Chrome).
Why did I study Computer Science?
Because of my curiosity for the "black box" magic of how computers work, I am "opening this box" by learning how these machnes work and, importantly, how I can manipulate them to perform a task.
Furthermore, because more and more aspects of life are relying on computers and microcontrollers alike, it is important to know what parts are being automated and how I can contribute to making computers more effective.
What do I do?
From the time of this writing, I have been in pursuit of writing secure programs.
I took a class on Cryptography, which outlines what an adversary can achieve when a secure communication system is broken.
Given the amount of insecure software (and insecure practices) that circulates today, I am committed to protecting the integrity and confidentiality of all clients through any piece of software I write.
